Hello,
I am a British Citizen via naturalization of 5-year on Tier-1 visa.
My wife is on Tier-1 dependent visa and works full time.
Our child is 2 years old. Wife and child are not UK citizen.
As per Child benefit criteria I have applied and receiving child benefit only in my name for the last 1 year.
Is the Child benefit that I receive be an blocker my wife's ILR application if she applies for ILR
after staying for 5 years in UK on Tier-1 dependent
If yes,
1. Do I have to opt out of Child benefit and then apply for my wife's ILR?
2. Any other valid options?
As I am a newbie please consider and move it to appropriate section if needed.
Regards

Hi Zimba,
Thanks for your reply.
I did get this Gov Site link:
https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk,
under eligibiltiy criteria it says "you and your partner must not be using public funds"
====
1What's your situation?
You're the family member or partner of a British citizen
2Did your family member or partner settle before they became a British citizen?
Yes
3How did they settle?
On a work visa
4What type of work visa did they settle with?
A tier 1, tier 2 or tier 5 visa
.
.
.
Eligibility for partners:
When you apply for settlement, you and your partner must:
be living together in your own accommodation
not be using public funds
.
.

Hi
On above query i have a small doubt
In the visa application it is asking does you or anyone part of the application are receiving public funds. Do we need to declare it.
Please let me know
Thank you

I am still worried about it
In the Set(o) PBS dependent application it is asking does you are anyone part of the application acess public funds.( there it was asking this might be spouse or child)
I slelected the option No and i am worried if i did the right thing or not.
I am BC for 2 years now and only during this period i am claiming child benifit on my name.
Please let me know i am so worried
Thank you

I repeated several times that it has no effect. I also repeat that you are NOT part of the application.
