Tier 2 General to ILR - Application date, Continuous leave, and absences

Hi all,

I have few questions around when should I apply for my ILR, Continuous leave, and absences.

My Initial Tier 2 General visa was granted on 3rd October 2013 and I entered in UK on 18th February 2014. Since then I've worked with two employers. The 2nd Tier 2 General visa was granted on 14th May 2014 and 3rd (current) visa was issued on 14th March 2016 which is valid till 16th October 2019. So what exactly is eligible date for my ILR application i.e. 3rd October 2018 or 18th February 2019?

Tier 2 General Visas:
  1. Granted on 03/10/2013. Entry on 18/02/2014.
  2. Granted on 14/05/2014.
  3. Granted on 14/03/2016 valid until 16/10/2019.
Travel Summary :
  1. 2014: 8
  2. 2015: 51
  3. 2016: 49. Maybe worth mentioning between switching jobs I had delayed my joining date with Employer C by 20 days and was out of country for 18 days. For the whole time I had a valid Tier 2 General visa issued for Employer C.
  4. 2017: 42
  5. 2018: 32 (so far). 30 more planned.
Some of the travel was work related, other's been combination on short weekend/long-weekend trip and using annual leaves. Which documentation I will need from my employer(s) regarding this?

Thanks.

1. Your eligibility date is 28 days from your date of entry (18/02/2014 minus 28 days). because you entered 90 days after your entry clearance.

2. for all the annual leaves, business trips outside UK you need a letter from employer.

Tier 2 General to ILR - Application date

Hello everyone,

I have a question around the date of my ILR application.

The initial Tier 2 General visa was granted on 3rd October 2013 and I entered in UK on 18th February 2014. Since then I've worked with two employers. The 2nd Tier 2 General visa was granted on 14th May 2014 and 3rd (current) visa was issued on 14th March 2016 which is valid till 16th October 2019.

From what I've understood I'll be eligibility to apply on 21/01/2019 (5 years - 28 days) from the date of first entry (18/02/2014), since I entered more than 90 days after my entry clearance (03/10/2013).

Now if I don't apply for an ILR what's the last date I can stay in the country or what's the latest date I must apply for an ILR to continue working?

Tier 2 General Visas:
A. Granted on 03/10/2013. Entry on 18/02/2014.
B. Granted on 14/05/2014.
C. Granted on 14/03/2016 valid until 16/10/2019.

What about the shorter/weekend trips outside UK?

ILR SET(O) application - break between employments

Hello everyone,

I am in process of preparing documents for my ILR SET(O) - 5 years route.

Before joining my current employer I had a 28 days break between employments. However during this time I had a visa granted for my current employer. If it helps, during this break period I was travelling abroad and few days were spent in UK.

Last day at previous employer: 15 April 2016
Date of joining my current employer: 12 May 2016
Date on BRP: 14 March 2016 (expiring 16 October 2019)

Does this count as a break in 5 years continuous period?

My current employer might not be able to include this period in a letter supporting absences, would that be an issue?

Thanks
