Master degree from UK university was rejected as prove of English

i submitted my application in Nov. i did my postgraduate study in UK, got my degree in 2018. I paid naric but then they refunded me the money as they only domfor overseas degree. So i submitted my application using it. To my surprise i got an email from them saying that they need letter from naric and i need to submit it within 5 days else they will make the decision based ln what they already have. i replied by saying that my degree was from Univ in UK and so i dont need a letter from naric again. but then she replied that they can't accept it as prove of english. so either i submit letter from naric or take english test and she extend it for 2 weeks. i managed to get the test tomorrow so it is not a big problem, except that i have to spend additional £150 and train tickets.
but i still wondering if that is how it suppose to be? if I graduate from UK why can' t i use my degree as prove of my english compatency?

The
immigration rules appendix KoLL part 2 very clearly says that an applicant satisfies the English language requirement if the applicant has obtained an academic qualification (
not a professional or vocational qualification) which either:
(1)
is a UK Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD; or
(2) is deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or PhD in the UK, from an educational establishment in one of the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda; Australia; The Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; Dominica; Grenada; Guyana; Ireland; Jamaica; New Zealand; St Kitts and Nevis; St Lucia; St Vincent and The Grenadines; Trinidad and Tobago; the UK; the USA; and provides the specified documents;
So having a UK Masters degree will be enough without a need for NARIC certificate (and ofcourse NARIC does not provide a certificate for UK degrees at all) However it is very
IMPORTANT to remember that a professional or vocational qualification is NOT acceptable

If I were you, because of the caseworker’s ignorance I will write the test and get my ILR and then claim for a refund of my English language test and train ticket.

i have passed the test, so i emailed them the provisional certificate and enquiry once again regarding this, and she firmly stated it is not accepted.
Unfortunately we could not accept your UK Postgraduate certificate as evidence of English Language but as you have now passed a Secure English Language Test at Trinity College London we will wait for you to send in the certificate before we make a decision on your application.

Where and how can you reclaim this?

Absolute nonsense. A UK degree is acceptable to meet the English requirement.

This CW seems to be really ignorant. You should file an official complaint and ask for a refund after your application is approved. The UK Master’s Degree is definitely accepted. I used that at my extension and it was accepted.

Perhaps you can clarify. Did you pass all the processes, modules, etc and get a MASTERS degree or did you miss something or not pass something or not complete something and you only got a Certificate of whatever/something.

This is real ignorance in the part of the CW. Well just wait till you have your certificate and send it. At least he has confronted wait till the certificate arrives.
Ensure you request for your refund along with damages after you have been approved. It’s an unusual behaviour of the CW. As a matter of fact so many people got their ILR in the last couple of weeks with their UK degree, so I wonder what’s wrong with this one.

It’s really absurd a CW can make this kind of blunder. Which test can be better than a UK degree to confirm English Language.

This does seem quite bizarre.
@apiapiaba just out of curiosity, what master degree did you pursue? Let us know only if you feel comfortable, btw.

Professional qualification are NOT acceptable even if they are awarded as Masters or MAs.

If it’s a professional qualification equivalent to Masters, you should have done a NARIC verification of it. That would have solved the question as UK Masters degree can not be contented.

Yes it’s an error. They might see and correct it. The money might not be paid to your account. If it is paid then you have to refund it.
