Long residence SET (LR) for a child

I have a question. I came to the UK with my wife and a son in January 2009. We currently have leave to remain under 10 years private life route. We remained in the UK lawfully throughout the period. My wife has not passed Life in the UK test and I recently had a traffic offence and I have to wait for 24 months before I could apply for settlement.

Can my son, who is 16 years old and has lived 10 years lawfully in the UK, apply for long residence SET (LR) without parents having settled status in the UK?

Yes. Under long residence you should apply on your own and satisfy the requirements on your own
