ILR due mid next year. Need your assistance. Please advice.

Hi All,
My ILR is due to apply around May 2019. I am going through the policy documents and searching in this group too.
My first query is proving knowledge of english language.
The excerpts from the guidelines. It says :

If your degree isn’t from a UK university, you’ll need your original degree certificate and one of the following:
1. an original letter or certificate from UK NARIC confirming the equivalent level of your degree, plus an official letter from your university with your name and degree confirming that your degree was taught in English
2. an original and official certificate from your university confirming the degree was taught or researched in a majority English-speaking country (except Canada)

In my case, I need to submit the documents as specified on No.1.
Does anyone know the procedure to get a certificate from NARIC ?
Is there any validity of this certificate ?
If I apply for NARIC certificate now, can I use the same certificate after a year when I am due to apply for ILR?

About the letter from the university, is there any specific format or University can issue a letter in their letter head writing my name and degree and specify that it was taught in English ?
Do I need to appear for any B1 or C1 or IELTS ?

Can you assist on these please ? Thanks in advance.

I have had a friend of mine do the NARIC accreditation in the month of March / April this year.
The final certificate issued by Naric doesn't specify any validity dates on it.

The letter from univeristy had the following details
1. Name
2. Roll number / registration number
3. Date of birth
4. Course studied
5. date of completion of the course.

The wording on the letter were similar to :- ( Not exact words, i am typing them from my memory)
" The above student was a bonafied student in xxyy univeristy and has completed his degree in xxxyy in the (dates) . The Medium of instruction for the Course was English and all the exams were conducted in English.

Signed By Registrat
Seal of University

All this in the University official letterhead.

Appreciate your swift response Aja and thanks for providing the info..

Do I need to get the english language proof letter first from University and then upload to NARIC link alongwith my original degree certificate ?
Then NARIC will validate the necessary details and issue the certificate.

For NARIC assessment choose visa and nationality services ( red route):
You would need to submit online, following educational documents from the university you attended
1. Final degree certificate
2. Medium of certificate mentioning degree was taught in English(format available on NARIC site)
3. Full Academic Transcripts

For information on the service and how to apply, please visit the following page:

Thank you very much Sv2018..
I have found the template from NARIC website that I can use to get a letter from University..
Once done, I will apply for NARIC assessment to get the certificate.
Any idea if the certificate has any validity as I don't want to apply again e.g. after 6 months if it expires before my application.

Other members can throw some light on it/ also you can enquire about this Via Email to NARIC, to be doubly sure (NARIC do reply to the enquiries)
Hope this helps.

@Sv2018,
Got a reply from NARIC as follows :
---------------------
We do not issue our documentation with end/expiry date. It is up to the Home Office, or any other organisation that you may present your supporting documentation to, to use their discretion.
---------------------

It seems like it's better to get the NARIC certificate just couple of months before applying for ILR to avoid any issue.

Thank you for the update, much appreciated. Yes, It's better to get latest certificate from NARIC to be on safer side.
On another note,
When did you receive your medium of instruction
Transcripts from university? I hope NARIC will accept the certificate which are not recently issued from the university. I mean university will issue originals only once.
I am asking this as I applied for NARIC last year, can I get new assessment from NARIC, I will need after 4 years, based on my existing educational documents (especially MOI) I hope it will. ( I know this is too early to ask this for my ILR)

I have recently requested for medium of instruction from the University and hoping will get it shortly and planning to apply NARIC assessment may be on December or Jan next year, few months before my ILR application.

Hello guys,

When you say Transcripts, Is it different from Consolidated Marksheet listing all subjects and marks obtained? Please advice.

Thanks,
SKA

For NARIC , you will need your Degree Certificate, Consolidated Mark List / Transcript and Taught in English language letter from your university.

Yes, Transcript is the same as Consolidated mark list for NARIC purposes.

Hi Sv2018 and all,
This is continuation to my previous messages.. I am in due to apply for ILR on mid of this year.
I have recently registered with NARIC UK.

After logging in, it has provided me the following services :-

1. Statement of Comparability (SOC)

2. Visa and Nationality service (VANS)

3. Career Path Report (CPR)

4. Early Years Service (EYS)

5. English Language Assessment (ELA)

I have applied for No. 5(ELA) and later while discussing with friends and colleagues, they suggested I need to apply for No. 2 (VANS) as well.

Can someone confirm which services do I need apply ?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks CR001 for swift response. Sorry to ask you again..
I queried to NARIC and got a response from them as below : -

The Statement of Comparability is a document that can be used in support of your international qualifications. It guides universities, colleges, employers and professional bodies on how your qualifications (including professional qualifications) relate to UK qualifications and certificates.

For further information please see:
https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/individu ... ility.aspx

The English Language Assessment service is available to individuals who need to demonstrate their English language ability for the purposes of work, study or registration with a professional body.

For further information please see: https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/individu ... sment.aspx

Looking at their response, it seems we need one of them..
In NARIC link, if we go through the red route, it shows it costs £125+VAT and The Visa and Nationality service (VANS) is exactly same with the price so wondering if we only need VANS. Please advise.

NARIC also said this for VANS :
The Visas and Nationality statement is the designated service supporting individuals applying for UK visas or for settlement in the UK, provided by UK NARIC on behalf of the Home Office.

Hello All,

I had a gap of more than 60 days (around 3 months) between my first employer and the current employer. Do I need to show any absence letter for this gap ? If yes, from whom ? If not, Is there any issue ?
I did not travel outside of UK when with first employer so no need of any letter as confirmed by CR001 in different thread?
TIA..

No, I did not leave UK..
The 60 days unemployment gap was removed from the rule on 2017 I presume and I am not sure completely if there is any restriction. That's why have some concerns.
