Refund on healthcare surcharge after ILR

Hi,

I had to apply for an extension to my UK Ancestry visa for a further 5 years since I was 9 months short of the 5 year qualifying period for ILR. This meant that I also had to pay the full healthcare surcharge amount for the extra 5 years. I am now eligible to apply for ILR so once this has been granted I am unsure if I am able to claim the refund on the healthcare surcharge fee for the remaining unused time of the UK Ancestry visa (i.e. 4 years)? There ís no information on Home Office website.

Any information would be most helpful.
Thank you

You will not get a refund if:

your visa application is successful but you do not come to the UK
you leave the UK before your visa ends, for example to make a new application
you’re told to leave the UK before your visa expires
you’re applying for indefinite leave to remain or changing to another visa where you do not need to pay the IHS

I paid IHS in 2017 until 2020, now I have got ILR I should be getting refund for at least one year, how can I ask for the refund?

If you read the post directly above yours, it clearly states IHS is not refunded if you apply for ilr.
