Wife ILR Application Form O, under 5Year category

Hello All,

I am filling the online application, Form O for my wife. Firstly, They ask for Bank information, does that mean there are some minimum maintenance funds required? If so can you please explain how much the funds need to be and for how long they need to be in the account? If not why do they ask for Bank information? (pls see below the questions I have copied from online form)

Secondly, I started on Tier 1 General but am now a British citizen. AFTER my ILR approval I started taking child benefit for my son (he is now British citizen as well). The Child benefit money is paid into my sole Bank account (not a joint account). Am I correct in thinking taking Child benefit for my son (when he was not British citizen but I had ILR) will not jeopardize my wife's ILR application?

I will provide a declaration signed by me to confirm my consent for the Home Office to request verification checks.
Is the account with a bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation held jointly by you and other people?
Does the account with the bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation relate to another person who is to provide you financial support?

It is NOT asking for bank details or statement. There is NO maintenance funds for ILR. If you are using any documents in BOTH your joint names, you have to sign the consent form for HO to do verification checks.
Secondly, I started on Tier 1 General but am now a British citizen. AFTER my ILR approval I started taking child benefit for my son (he is now British citizen as well). Correct. You as a British citizen are allowed to claim child benefit.

Thank you for such a quick reply!CR001.

Correct. You as a British citizen are allowed to claim child benefit.

One clarification, when I applied for Child benefit I had Indefinite leave and my child had dependent leave under Tier 1. I was not a British citizen at the time. Though now I am a citizen. Was that still allowed as far as my wife's ILR is concerned?

Thank you.

A person holding ILR or British can claim child benefit. No issues.
