Does time spent on Tier 2 dependent visa count towards ILR application?

Hello,
I am currently on a Tier 2 dependent visa. However, I now have a choice to change to either Tier 1 (exceptional promise) or Tier 2 general PBS visa. Does the time spent on Tier 2 dependent visa count towards the 5 years requirement for ILR? Or does the clock reset with a new visa?
Thank you

No it does not.
Or does the clock reset with a new visa?
Yes, you would start from scratch.

I just would like to ask this in a different way. Is there any possible way to switch from a Tier 2 dependent visa and make the time spent count towards ILR requirements?

No. You cannot switch to become a main applicant in the UK first of all and you must apply for a new visa as the main applicant from outside the UK. Also the time spent under PBS dependant will not count towards any other PBS based route for ILR.
