Can anyone please explain what documents goes which category on Sopra site:
1 for the wife and 1 for a child under 18 I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

If you expand each category, it will list what you need to upload. Yours is a bit different from mine as dependent (Tier 2 General VISA issued May 2014 and extended in October 2016 - so it's not considered for the absence limit).

What I have:
Mandatory:
* Other (previous passports or any travel document used here, police registration, BRP, consent forms)
* Proof of application (current passport)
Optional:
* Sponsors/Employment ( I didn't know where to put so I did here...for the dependent the sponder is the main applicant...so you: marriage certificate, proofs of cohabitation)
* Educational (Life in the UK and English tests certificates);

Even if I expand it doesn't indicate what type of document they want, it only gives option to upload the file.

The application gives you a list of documents you need to present...that's the minimum you have to submit. Then, reading the guidance and this forum you get the rest (like the cohabitation proof, for example).
