Visa Refusal Question query

Hi All,
I am making an application for ILR based on 5 year tier 2 visa. In the form i have a question regarding if i have ever had visa refused or rejected for UK entry.
My first application was for a student visa to UK which was refused but then i appealed that and i was granted visa for the same application. My question is shall i tick yes or no in the application for visa refusal question.
