Settlements ILR status - new job abroad

Hi All,
I am in a real conundrum at the moment.
Basically I am a Chinese national still holding a Chinese passport and have been issued settlement ILR March 2018 expiring in 2024.
Due to some changes in personal circumstance, I am planning to take on a job offer back home in China however I am not sure if I will be going back home for good as first my partner is here in London and we bought a house together back in 2015.
The probational period of this job is 3 months and I am thinking if it doesn't work out with the job I will come back to the UK but may do a bit of traveling in between leaving the job and coming back to the UK. In short, I may be out of the UK for 6 months and in this case, I may just come back in January next year 2020.
I am just wondering how this will affect my current settlement status.
I hope this is clear and please shine some lights on this.
Many thanks,
Evan
