Dear Experts and Forum Members,

I am new in this forum and I would really appreciate your help. I am a bit late in discovering this forum as I was talking to advisors and I got confusing answers.

I came to UK on 16 Sep 2009 with my wife and 2 children (as dependents) and we have stayed here legally on Tier 4 - PSW - Tier 4 - Tier 4 - Tier 2. My current Tier 2 Visa will expire exactly on 16 Sep 2019. I have an option of extending my Tier 2 Visa, but since we will be qualified for ILR LR by then we want to apply for ILR long residence later this month, using super priority service.

However, after studying the forum on ILR LR I am still confused of 3 things:
(1) Can my children (both below 18 yrs) apply using SET(F) at the same time with me and my wife or only after our ILR visa are approved?
If we have to wait for our ILR to be approved first, I am worried that the time frame may not be available as I heard that it takes 2-4 weeks to get appointment. By then, my children's dependent visa will be expired.

(2) I am a bit confused as I read in several threads here that I will need joint bank statements for me and my wife to be spread evenly within 24 months but doesn't need to be every month. Could anybody clarify this, please? Would payslips be needed as well?

(3) Since the supporting documents will be uploaded online, is document like passport (we have three passports covering our stays in the UK so far) need to be scanned for every pages that has stamps or vignettes?

Your kind attention and assistance will be highly appreciated.

Under SET(LR) every applicant must apply separately and qualify separately. There is no need for them to wait for you if they qualify on their own.

Under SET(LR) every applicant must apply separately and qualify separately. There is no income or cohabitation requirement. Your relationship status is not relevant
(3) Since the supporting documents will be uploaded online, is document like passport (we have three passports covering our stays in the UK so far) need to be scanned for every pages that has stamps or vignettes?
Yes

Dear Zimba,

Thank you for your prompt answers and clarifications.
Under SET(LR) every applicant must apply separately and qualify separately. There is no need for them to wait for you if they qualify on their own.
So, as my children are all under 18 years old, would they be using SET(LR) or SET(F) for their applications?

Sorry to ask again to you or any other experts:
Since all documents will uploaded online, do we also need to upload our photos? Or do we need to submit them during appointment?

Thank you again for all your help. The advisors whom we had talked to before I found this forum seemed to make everything overly complicated to us.

Dear Zimba and other Experts and Members,

When trying to fill out the online form, I am a bit confused on question in "Your social, cultural and family ties" part:
Do you have any family in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years? (Required)

Yes
No

Provide details
List their names, where they live, how you are related to them, and what type of contact you have with them

(1) Do they only require immediate family?
(2) What does it mean by: "what type of contact you have with them"? Is it correct if I answer "Contact regularly by phone/skype" (when listing immediate family members).

This type of question also appear in next question about Friends in your country of birth.

Also this question:
Are you part of any social groups or do you have other cultural ties in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years? (Required)
This could include social networks or connections to any of these countries
If I have a Facebook account with lots of friends, how should I answer this?

Apologies for asking too many questions as these questions puzzled me.

Thank you in advance.

It is NOT about your social media accounts!!! It is social groups in home country, ie church, book club, etc etc

Dear CR001,

Thank you very much for your clarification re: social networks. Sorry I thought it was FB!

Re: my question on form for my children under 18 that want to apply for 10 yrs ILR along with (since they have lived in the UK for 10 years as my dependants), is the correct form to use SET(LR) or SET(F)?

I tried calling the UKVI Hotline on 0300 123 2241 but they gave me more confusing answer. They said that Tier 4 is not counted for 10 years long residency!

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Separate SET(LR) applications for you and your partner
Separate SET(F) applications for your children

Dear Zimba and other Experts,

Sorry to have another question re: Form SET(F).

In the "Sponsor" part, there is a question below:
Your Sponsor

Who is your sponsor for this application? (Required)
Your sponsor is the parent or relative who is present and settled in the UK and who will be supporting you.
I am a bit confused on the word "settled" above. What is the meaning of the word "settled" above? Does it mean ILR? Or just having a legal visa in the UK?

This is because I will be applying for ILR at the same time with my children (separately using SET(LR) form) and surely I won't be having an ILR visa yet.

Could you kindly enlight me, please?

Thank you for your kind attention and assistance.

Best Regards,

You just need to give your details in that regard since you are applying for settlement at the same time.

Dear Experts and Senior Members,

Apologies for yet another questions for sanity check as I will be finalising my application in 1-2 days.

I am completing Set(F) on behalf of my two children under 18 (separately). I have two questions related to the end parts of this form:
  1. A required document the end of the list is "Letter of consent from your parent(s) or legal
guardian(s)" which has to include several points. Does anybody have a sample of such letter?
  2. Re: Declaration letter at the end of the application, since I will be completing Set(F) for my children and the bank statement is a joint account with my spouse, is it correct for me to sign Part 1 on behalf of my children, my spouse to sign as she has joint bank account with me, and both of us sign Part 3 (as we are the financial provider of our children and our bank account is a joint one)?
Your assistance will be highly appreciated to help us apply with confidence

Many thanks in advance.

Dear Experts and Senior Members,

Could anybody help me with only the my second question above as a matter of urgency? I am a bit confused about the way the consent is asked in the form SET(F). First, it asks for Consent from Sponsor (Part 3), then consent from applicant (or person submitting on their behalf) which is Part 1 and also fine. Then, it asks about third party support, i.e. those in joint accounts.

I am confused whether it is the third party support to applicant (as mostly children for SET(F) so they will not be providing their own financials most of the time) or third party support to person submitting on behalf of the child?

Thank you in advance. I hope somebody can help me.

It’s third party support to the applicant not the children applying with you. Don’t forget you are the main applicant here.

The child is the main applicant on form set f. The op and the spouse already have ilr.
