Hi,
Anyone help me with this query.Can i use the same ilets certificate which i used 5 years back when i enter the uk and then on my extention after 2.5 years now on indefinate leave to remain ILR? Plus its more helpful if anyone has already used the previous certificate on his/her ILR.

Which IELTS and level is it??

Ielts (general) with 6.0 marks .

Probably safest to do the B1 IELTS test to avoid a potential refusal.

As i check on the HO website in that they said you can use your expired Ielts certificate in two cases ,if your certificate equilent to b1 level , your center is in our current list and the other one is if its accepted in any previous imigration you can use the test so on that basis we thought to use the test again as i am about a week near to apply .

So my level of ilets is equal to B1 level and also listed in there list . Plus i got my enterence visa and my extention both on that test .

Up to you then if you wish to use it and hope HO accepts it. There have been many refusals due to English tests this year.

Char is right strongly agreed with her opinion. And if I am not mistaken then ILETS is also valid for 2 years HO can possibly raise that point better get fresh done i.e B1.Good Luck.

Hi, Just to let you know my ILR has been approved . My 5 years old IELTS got accepted based on following;

1) It was accepted for entry clearance and my first visa extension after 2.5 Years.
2) My IELTS score was 6.0 which meets the criteria of B1 Level.
3) My IELTS test centre is still on the list of approved test centre.

All above condition must be met for acceptance of expired English test as per UKBA guidance rules.

Did I say anywhere in my post that refusals were for Set(O)?? No I didn't as I was referring specifically to Set(M) refusals as that is the route the OP was applying. Best to search the forum yourself, there have been many refusals for many reasons.

I was not sure about this application whether it was Set (M) or Set (O). Thank you for the clarification!

I am not saying anything against what you said. Just confirming whether it is right (more refusal for Set (M) than Set(O)) or am I missing something?

1. The clue on a persons route would be the mention of 2.5 years x 2 visa, which is not PBS route but spouse settlement/FLR(M) visas.

2. On English requirement, likely more Set(M) than Set(O) but I am certain there have been Set(O) issues too, but likely minimal.

For those who have been searching about using the old IELTS (i.e., IELTS taken before the "IELTS for UKVI" even existed) for their ILR applications, I'd like to share my experience. I used my Academic IELTS which I took back in April 2014 to apply for ILR Tier 2 general route recently. I used this IELTS to apply for my entry clearance. My scores were 8 on speaking, listening and reading and 6.5 in writing. It was accepted and my ILR has been granted.

Can you please clarify is the test centre where you took the IELTS test (like university) still on the list of approved test centres by UKVI?
