Ancestry visa out of UK days

Good afternoon,

I have a UK Ancestry Visa. I’ve read that if I’m out of the UK for more than 180 days in any 12 month period, I won’t be successful in renewing this visa when it finishes. (I intend to renew it and then apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain later on).

I work for 3 British companies. For two of them, I always work in the UK but for one (again, British company), I work physically abroad in other EU countries (but am paid in Sterling).

Would the time I work for this company (paying UK taxes) but am physically out of the country count towards this 180 days in any 12 month period?

Many thanks for your help.

Kind regards. Alexandra

All absence, regardless of reason, counts towards the 180 days absence limit.

Ah shame. I’d assumed that was the case but thought I’d ask just the same. Thank you for your time.
