Hello,

I have recently applied for Indefinite Leave to Remain (Long Resistance).
I was previously on Tier 2 General visa.
Is it possible to apply for new job while the ILR application is being processed?
If yes, would I require Tier 2 Sponsorship?

You can apply but you won't be able to work for a new employer until your ILR is approved and you have your BRP Card. While you wait for the outcome of your ILR LR application, your existing tier 2 conditions continue and you can only work for your tier 2 sponsor.
If yes, would I require Tier 2 Sponsorship?
No, not if your ILR is granted. Note also that you cannot make a tier 2 change of employer application if you have a current application pending with HO. You would need to withdraw your ILR application.

Thank you for reply.

I know the standard processing time is six months and almost all searches online direct me to cases where decision has been delayed for more than a year.
Have there been cases where people have received the decision sooner? I remember reading on Gov.uk that it is possible to receive visa within four months. What is the likelihood of this happening?

I am little stressed by the fact that I am stuck at my current job until I receive ILR and not sure if Brexit uncertainty looming in October will have any chance of the process being further delayed.

If you applied using the standard service and not the super priority, then it is 8 weeks but MIGHT take up to 6 months. Most members these days are getting responses within 8 weeks. If you didn't want to wait, you should have paid extra for super priority.

Brexit does NOT affect application under the UK immigration rules.
