ILR issues but Indian passport expiring soon

My friend have ILR issued last year. Due to emergency situation he need to go india today but his indian passport expires in 4 months, will that be an issue when he come back to UK?

Any alternate solutions ?

No, he can enter the UK as long as he has a valid passport.
