Good evening all,

On the passport it says visa valid from 02/09/2010 but visa holder arrived in UK on 18/09/2010. I heard for ILR the visa holder would be eligible 28 days earlier of 10 years plus extra 14 days as he never overstayed. So the enquirers are:

1. Is that would be counted from 02/09/2010 or 18/09/2010 ?
2. Is it right that he can make application for ILR 28 days + 14 days (42 days) earlier of 10 years?

I would be highly appreciated for your time and effort. Thanks a lot in advance for your assistance.

1. ILR long residence qualifying period starts count from the date you ENTERED the UK and not visa issue date.

2. No, there is no 28+14 days rule. Where did you "hear" this?? You can apply for ilr no sooner than within 28 days before the 10th anniversary of the date you entered the UK. The 14 days rule has nothing to do with this and you are confusing two different things.

The 14 days rule has nothing to do with the 28 days early concession ho allows for ilr. They are two completely different things and is not 28+14 days to apply super early than you qualify.

Hello, in the above situation would the expiry date of the last leave to remain matter? Incase it its prior to the 10th anniversary but no more than 28 days later.
