Dear Experts,

I am about to file for ILR in April. I have a child who was born in India. We all would be eligible for ILR at the same time.
However, I was thinking if instead of ILR if I can do a 'dependent of settled person - family visa' and then 1 year later register him as a citizen after my citizenship ?

the fees for ilr is 2.5k while the famly visa fee is 1k - please advise if my thinking is correct ?

Thanks in advance

Adi

A child born abroad is also expected to hold ILR and be free from immigration time restrictions before they can apply for citizenship when either parent is also applying. There is no shortcut for children born abroad to non British parents.

A child settlement visa costs (currently) £1033 PLUS £1000 IHS fees.
