COVID-19 advice

We were due to apply for our ILR April (could apply up to a month in advance) for myself, partner, and daughter. However we were delayed due to the COVID-19 situation. When finally got a chance to apply I realised that my daughters' passport has expired in February. Since we hadn't made travel plans we did not know until we reached the ILR application stage about this.

I read in the sticky post) that ILR applications due could wait as visas will now be valid until 31 May 2020. But what about the case of the expired passport? We have tried to renew it but the Indian passport office is also closed.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

You need valid passport for ILR. You need to seek to extend the visa until you get a valid passport. You must contact the Coronavirus Immigration Team (CIT) to update your records if your visa is expiring.

Indian passport renewal applications are handled by VFS. Have you checked with VFS if they are functioning?
