I have a generic query please. I have passed Life in the UK some time ago. Now I have been issued with a BRP, can I retake the test again using this BRP as a new ID?

I was reading the naturalisation guide and it says if you have a brp you should use it as the ID for Lituk test, which I didn’t do. So I want to retake it and use brp as ID.

It makes no difference. You are overthinking. Perfectly acceptable to use your driver's license or passport. It is NOT mandatory to use a brp card.

Thanks! after 19th of Dec the LitUK ID requirements changed and I don't want any surprises for naturalization. I find myself more relaxed redoing the test. I logged into my LitUK and found that I can book a new test with a BRP ID. I am sure no one has ever done that, but I will have sleepless nights if I don't retake it

You are overthinking and being paranoid and wasting money.

Nothing has changed that it must be a brp card. You are misreading or misunderstanding the requirements completely. Nowhere does it state you must use a brp.

Accepted forms of ID
You can use one of the following as ID to book the test:

valid passport
valid travel document with a photo (you cannot use an emergency travel document)
biometric residence permit
biometric residence card

Hi all,

Due to this pandemic I am planning to submit my ILR application early but have the Bio-metrics appointment when I am within the 28 days of the qualifying period.

As per the guidelines the Bank statement and payslip (and many other evidences) should not be older than one month. My question is, from when they count the one month? from the date of application submit or from the date of decision (post bio-metrics)?

Date of application is the date you submit and pay online. Your documents must be dated on or before this date.

First of all, sorry if this is not the right forum.

I am asking this question on behalf of someone who is already a refugee and claiming PIP and Pension Credit. Their Refugee status end in July 2020 and will be applying for ILR. The current benefits end in July 2020 as well.
The question is, will it be possible to claim the benefits (pension and pip) while the ILR application has not bee decided yet?

I have a question related to ILR Set (O) and the job start date. The actual job start date is more than 28 days than what's stated in the CoS. However, the Tier 2 visa was granted before this change.
Is this going to affect ILR approval?

Hi all,

In case of Tier 2 General applying for ILR with dependents, is a cover letter needed to explain these two points:
1- A child trip out of the UK for a school trip to Europe.
2- Only one of the family members (a child) is dual national. This is not a new nationality and was already declared in the past when applied for Tier 2 visa a few years ago, and is declared in Set (O) application as well. As the rest of family are not dual national do I need to explain the circumstances how that child had dual nationality?

Actually all our Tier 2 visas were issues in 2015 for 5 years and those were visa stickers. However, the adults transferred their conditions from visa stickers to BRP in 2019 (the BRPs issue date was in 2019), I hope these are not considered as new visas.

Why did you get a brp card when you had a 5 year visa in your passports??

A new visa is applying for a visa extension and paying visa fees and IHS etc.

We needed to apply for a visa to Romania and the embassy didn't accept visa stickers on passports as proof of our immigration status in the uk, they would only accept BRP. Hence, we applied for it. There is always a reason
When we got BRPs we only applied using TOC forms, we didn't need to extend the expiry date or pay for IHS.

I am eligible to submit my Set (o) application since 1st of May, but I have decided to hold on it hoping the priority and super priority services are back. My Tier 2 visa expires on 24th June 2020. My plan is to continue holding till 15th June then submit whatsoever.
My questions:
1- what do you think of my approach to wait for super priority to be back?
2- in the question related to language, I have received - what I think is- an electronic reference number and I have received a physical certificate as well from Trinity college. I have answered that I have an electronic number and provided what I have. Shall I change my answer to certificate instead?
