Continuous period in the UK for settlement as a PBS dependant

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if there is a specific rule relating to required continuous period of stay for PBS Dependant visa holder to be qualified for Settlement after 5 years. I have yet to hold a dependant visa but I am planning ahead with my partner as I might have to spend sometime out of the country over the next few years due to family commitment. I am aware that the rules might change in the future but thought it's worth having a general idea about it.

Many thanks in advance!

If a PBS dependant visa issued after 11 Jan 2018, the usual absence limit of 180 days per year on a rolling basis applies

When I apply for settlement, do I need to provide details of any absence (presumably less than 180days) to the HO? Thanks.

Yes, you will be subject to the absence limits and have to provide all your absences in the form for ilr and all your stamped passport pages.
