Employment Status (tier1 to LR)

Dear member
I am applying for ILR(LR).
I have some questions that I appreciate if you can answer:
First: I was checking SAR record that I have requested 4 years ago. I noticed that there a question asked:
CRS CHECKED? YES-Trace and then there is reference for that. It is the same for all my application up until the last one that the answer is Yes- clear. What does that mean?

2- once, I had a valid T4 visa till October but left the country in July and applied a new T4 visa With new Sponsor and came back to the UK in Sep. As I read the guidance my continues residency has not broken. Right?

3- I am now in the country for over 10 years. Is 10 years continues residency starts from the day I arrived here or from the application date backward 10 years? I am asking that for calculating absences?

4- not all my exits and enters have stamps on my pass and I cannot remember all of them. What should I do?

5- is there any link to calculate the exact number of days out of UK. Thanks

1. No idea and don't expect anyone on the forum to know either. We don't work for UKVI or have knowledge of their internal processes.

2. Fine yes.

3. Your ILR residence clock starts from the date you entered the UK.

4. You need to be as accurate as possible.

From around the year 2014 the UKVI promulgated a covenant regarding exercising their preliminary mandatory checks over entry clearance & leave to remain applications before being these proceeded further. So depending on the application route the checks are carried out against UK warning index & central reference system (CRS). So clear means these all were satisfactory.

Thank you both for your reply.
So, do you know what it means:
CRS CHECKED? Yes-Trace and then there is reference number for that (for me and dependants).
It is the same answer for all applications I made except the last one!

Whether the application was in time or not should only be your apropos focus on SAR report.

Yes, all the applications were in time and granted. Although two of them took a long time to approve.

Time spent out of UK

Dear members
I am in middle of application form and not sure how to answer the questions about time spent out of UK.
I highly appreciate if you can help me.
1- most of the time, when I was travelling to my country (B), I had indirect flight and had a transit through another country (C). When filling the landing board card, I was writing the country C as it was asked for the last departure port and flight. So, now what should I mention here?

2- sometimes, I was staying for couple of days in country C and then I continued my travel to country B. So, in application form what should I answer as the destination?

3- also once, while I was in my own country (B), I had to go to another country (D) to renew my UK visa and then came back to my country and then back to the UK. Should I mention all this in the cover letter?

4- I am trying my best to find the exact date as much as possible. But as not all the stamps are in my passport and I cannot remember what time of the day I have travelled, it may be at the end of the night that I exited the UK but arriving the next day in another country. Is it problematic if I mention exit or entry dates one day back of forth?

Thank you very much for your help.

Is it change of name?!

Hi dear members
I have a quite long 2 parts surname. However, in my passports (I think mainly because of space) these two parts are written together and formed one long surname. I have always used these one part surname in all my visa application. But in some of my documents that has been translated into English, the surname is written as two parts with a space in middle. As the result, my surname in my uni’s degree is also written in 2 parts.

As I have never thought of this as the different name, I never mentioned it in any previous application form when asked “have you ever been known by different name?” and all my previous vise were successful.

But know, I have ordered a SAR and in that I see that in all my previous application under the Alias name, there are my both different names as:

Xxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx PBS NAME
xxxxxxxxxxx Xxxxx CRS NAME

now, I don’t know what to do? Should I mention these different variation in my LR application?
If yes, what about my previous ones that I have not mention it as I never though it is different.

Should I write a cover letter explain it to CW in all honestly?

Other than writing a covering letter and explain it, there won't be any other remedy I am afraid, as most of us only carry one surname which is why perhaps you aren't getting the answer. Also, most often the nationals from middle east countries have remarkably longer names which always be dealt multifariously because different departments/bodies have different version of database/recording methods.

Thank you for your response.
I haven’t mentioned it in any of my last application as it is not this way in any of my passports. But they had it in their system.
Should I mention it in the application form as the other name or just explain it in cover letter?
If I have not applied for SAR I still did not know about it.

Also bit eldritch that after spending so many years you have now realized and started worrying about it. In my opinion, let it be like that and just copy what you have done in previous applications.

Thank you. That’s because I never thought of that as a different name. As the only different is a space between two surnames! I have applied so many times for visa and also applied twice with help of lawyers but nobody thought of that as different name. :| :|

If it has not given you any problem before, do not create one for yourself now. Leave it as is.

Dear Zimba and other senior members
Please help me to decide what to do about the name issue. I am getting different advice and not sure what to do?
I have not changed my name and as so, I don’t have any evidence of changing name. It is just because of the limit in number of characters in passport and variation in translation issue. If I had not applied for SAR I still didn’t know.
So now:
1- should I declare it now and write a cover letter and explain it
1- or just ignore it as it is not in fact change of name. All my documents except university degree is the same as my passport.

Just a reminder:
It is mentioned in my SAR like this:
AAAA BBBBBBCCCC - CRS NAME
AAAA BBBBBB CCCC - PBS NAME

Employment status (Tier1 to LR)

Dear members
I am in final check of my application before submission and I am a little confused about employment status.
My current visa is Tier 1 Ent (initial). I have set up my company in 2015 and only in 2018 I became the employee of my own company and got salary from it.
So, to answer employment status, I chose full time employee. But not sure what to mention for annual earnings.
Should I mention only my annual salary (before deduction due to covid) or my salary+dividend I took from the company last year?!

Also, the start date of employment should be the date I set up the company and start working as director or the date I became the employee and start taking monthly salary?

Thank you all

Those questions do not matter at all. Your employments status in your company is not relevant under Tier 1E rules. Your employment start date is the day you are put on the payroll

No change in UKVCAS website after appointment

Dear member,
My spouse had his biometric appointment 2 weeks ago but since then his UKVCAS page has not change at all. It still shows the appointment as it is like upcoming and he is able to cancel it!
Also he has uploaded all documents and submit them before appointment and the lady there confirmed that all has been submitted but in the website it is like before and he is still able to upload docs!
Is it right? Or is it a glitch?
Thank you
