Age limit for ILR

Hi,

My uncle came to the UK on a Tier 2 visa and recently got his extension. He will be eligible for an ILR in 1.5 years time but he would be 62 by then. Is there an age limit on ILR? Would he have a problem getting an ILR and subsequent citizenship as he is near retirement age?

Thanks

No. As long he meets the Tier 2 requirements he can get ILR as normal. Then apply for Naturalisation after 1 year on ILR.

Someone over 65 is exempt of English Requirements and LIUK. He will have to meet both also.

Note, he does not need to wait 1 year after ILR to apply for Naturalisation in case he is married to a British Citizen, just wanted to clarify.
