Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has had a successful application after entering the country on a Visiting Visa and changing to any sort or Leave to Remain visa.

Please advice on the appropriate time to apply for ILR based on 10 years long residence.

Timeline:
  • I arrived in the UK on the 20th of April 2013 on a visitors visa.
  • I made an application for leave to remain on the 30th of September 2013 before my leave to enter the UK expired.
  • My application was denied on the 15th Of Nov
  • I appealed the decision on time and WON the appeal on the 31st of March 2014
My Leave to remain FLR (O) based on private life 10 years was granted on the 30th of Sept 2014 and I have renewed this every 2 1/2 years.

Thanks for your reply Vinny. Does that mean I can start counting residency time from my first entry 20th April 2013?
