Application for ILR submitted and accepted before Life in the UK test sat

My wife sat and passed her Life in the UK test a few days after her ILR application was submitted. There was a question on the form which asked if she had passed the test, to which she obviously answered "no". It didn't ask if she had a test booked, which she did, or offer any instructions on what to do. It just asked all the remaining questions and took the money. Now she has had her UKVAS appointment, having previously uploaded all the documents needed. All straightforward and no queries. I was expecting the UKVAS official to request details of the Life in the UK test situation but it wasn't mentioned and my wife, being nervous, forgot to ask. We tried to upload a screenshot of her pass confirmation number but no further uploads are now permitted. We tried calling UKVI and just get a series of recorded messages, none of which are relevant.
Is there anything else we must do? Will UKVI be able to access the result regardless? Will they write back and ask her to provide it before they will look further at her application?
Any advice much appreciated.

Firstly, LIUK has to be taken before you submit your application. You have to quote the reference number in the online form. The UKVCAS staff only goes by the checklist generated. LIUK does not appear in the checklist as there is no document to upload for it. The reference number has to be mentioned in the online form instead. You should have written a cover letter with the reference number and uploaded before attending the biometrics. You can not upload any more documents after the appointment itself. It is applicant’s responsibility to submit all required documents, not UKVCAS staff. They have little knowledge about the immigration rules. Only there to press submit and take biometrics.
Having said that, the only option now is to send a cover letter to Home Office with the LIUK reference number. Mention the UAN or Case ID/Name/DOB/Nationality.
Sometimes CW may request additional documents before refusing the application itself.
Best to send in a cover letter with the LIUK reference to HO asap. Send via recorded delivery.

If that's true then why did the form allow my wife to proceed? It simply asked the question, Have you passed the Life in the UK test? There was no place to insert the reference number. This was on Page 10 of SET(M) and well after an awful lot of other information was required. Nor was any warnings or advice given on the form about not submitting until she had actually taken the test, which she did and passed just a few days later.

So I have prepared a letter as suggested but where on earth do I send it? I cannot find an address anywhere and even though it says everything is handled by email at the moment, which makes sense, I cannot see any email addresses either. The telephone number just defaults to messages about looking online or saying they will contact you in due time.

You should have known LIUK is a mandatory requirement for your wife. The online form is generic. There are a few exceptions where someone is exempt from LIUK such as someone over 65, mental illness etc. In your wife’s case, she should have selected yes (in fact your wife should have taken the test before submission). Once selected yes, it would have given you an option to enter the reference number.

Email:
UKVISETM@homeoffice.gov.uk
Use this address:
Home Office
SET (M)
Indefinite Leave to Remain PO Box 591
Durham
DH1 9FS
As long it reaches home office, it will be forwarded to the case work even if has to be sent at some other address. Just mention UAN/Name/DOB/Nationality so they can match it with the application.

Also follow this thread, I am going to post a message so anyone who was granted ILR via SET(M) recently would have the latest address on the decision letter.
