ILR Financial Requirements Issue

Hi,

I will be applying for ILR Visa for my wife soon, as her 2nd 2.5 year spouse visa is coming to an end in November 2021. (5 year route)

In the last 2 applications, I easily qualified for the financial requirement of 18.600, as I was employed by a company. However, in July 2020 I decided to go self-employed permanently and will be under the 18,600 amount due to the business finding its feet/ pandemic/ blah blah blah. However, personally our finances are in decent order, never missed a rent payment, no debts, bills being paid, etc.

We have 2 children (both British) as I am British (from birth), they are aged 8 and 5 and both attend local school, ie - our life is here.

The question i'm asking is: Will the application stand a good chance of success even though the financial requirement (on paper) is not being hit? OR Do I need to get a job with a company offering a salary so that we hit it?

Will the application processors take into consideration that it would be a major upheaval (FLR FP) to move our family to Indonesia (wife's country)?

Thanks in advance.

The requirements change completely if you are self-employed and you are required to submit the proof of your income using the latest self-assessment (which you do not have I assume). If you get a full-time job, you need 12 months of evidence of fiances. You should read the official guide to see how she can qualify. You may use savings, both incomes, etc
