New ILR Application - 6 months delayed - General Queries

Hi folks,

I got my first Tier 2 General Visa on Nov 2015. Then I switched couple of companies and now I am in my fourth company, which I joined in May 2020. Since I was in Tier 2 continuously for more than 5 years, I believe I am eligible for applying ILR, right?

This is my Employment History:
  • Nov 2015 to Apr 2018: Company 1
  • Apr 2018 to Nov 2019: Company 2
  • Nov 2019 to March 2020: Company 3
  • April 2020: Unemployed
  • May 2020 to Present: Current Company 4
Both my wife's & my visa are due to expire on May 2021. We just have less than 2 months left. A lot of them including my company asked me to go for ILR. This happened in Jan last week so I thought of booking a Life in the UK Test and I got my appointment today and I passed the test, I got the reference number too.

This is my current situation. What should I do next? Here are some questions.
  1. If I apply for ILR for me, should I be submitting the letters from Company 1, 2 and 3 too? What should the letter contain? Is there a specific format?
  2. What all documents should I be prepared with?
  3. My wife came to the UK not more than 3 years ago. What route I should apply the visa for her?
  4. When should I apply her visa? Will I be able to apply for her along with mine?
  5. Should I go for a fast-track or a standard one? How long do you all think the standard visa usually take?
  6. Is there anyone as bad as me? (So much delays)
  7. Finally, is it worth going for an advice from an immigration advisor?
One of my friend suggested that I post here to get some idea before doing anything. So if someone has a similar experience as mine, please do let me know your experience or what you did.

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes. only absence letters
2. The online system tells you what to send
3. Skilled worker dependant visa
4. She needs 5 years for ILR
5. Up to you. Standard is up to 6 months.
6. There is no requirement to apply for ILR as soon as you are eligible. ILR is your choice
7. Not really
