ILR SET(M) Application questions

Hi,

I am due to submit my case soon and have been confused on several parts. So, I was hoping someone with experience may be able to help.

1) For the question: Do you have any other reasons for wanting to stay in the UK?

As we are applying only based on my income as my partner has not been self-employed long enough, would it be wise to mention having a business as a reason? If so, what documents would we provide for supporting evidence.

For this question we have also written about settled family life and having a child, could we attach birth certificate and passport copy of the child for support? Are there any other points I could add?

2) My payslips state the paydate as the first of each month, where in reality I am given them mid of each month. This has been due to an system error. So, although I got my payslip on the 15th of this month on the payslip itself it states 1st. would a letter from the employer explaining this be enough or should I try and submit my application in the next day so it is within the 28 days (from 1st).

3) The questions about previous refusals, I have given information on my first refusal for entry clearance and said I will attach relevant documents from that time. For the second visa application it was also refused but later over turned, should I include details for this too?

4) For the submission of passport copies, I know as the applicant I have to scan the whole passport but does it have to be the whole passport scanned for my British partner or just the first page.

Thank you

For this question we have also written about settled family life and having a child, could we attach birth certificate and passport copy of the child for support? Are there any other points I could add? You do not have to mention anything about business, talk about your employment and reference the documents you have uploaded as evidence.

This happens a lot when date on payslip does not coincide with date remuneration is received and or reflected in account statement. Can just highlight this on your cover letter.

3) The questions about previous refusals, I have given information on my first refusal for entry clearance and said I will attach relevant documents from that time. For the second visa application it was also refused but later over turned, should I include details for this too? You do not have to tender any document, if you have a reference number for the refusal and the one that was later overturned, input this. Remember that anybdocument you may want to tender were actually generated from HO so if they need them they know how to cross check or get same. Your part is if you got reference number provide it.

4) For the submission of passport copies, I know as the applicant I have to scan the whole passport but does it have to be the whole passport scanned for my British partner or just the first page. You understand correctly, the bio data page of the British partner is sufficient.

Thank you

In addition of what Amazonian's spotted on, you will have to apply with extreme caution to avoid the falling foul of 28 days rules because despite you get paid later but your date of payslip will still be on 1st.

Thank you for your help.

As it states the 1st on the payslip, would it be wise to submit the application today.

The bank statement for this month will not arrive till early next week, which would put me out of the 28 days for the payslip so I have got the last months transactions printed from the bank and stamped. Would this suffice? As otherwise waiting for the statements would make the payslips invalid.

I did ask the bank to send me it earlier but they have failed to do so. So I was hoping this will suffice.

Thank you.

The same you can redo at anytime even for few transactions instead for full month to synch these with payslips. Keep it instilled to only apply whenever your dates on payslips & bank statements covering the necessary duration remain within 28 days of the date of application.

Thank you for all your help. I have now submitted my application. Now that it is submitted, will that be my application date? If so, if I upload documents in a few days would they check 28 days from the day of uploading the documents or from the date application is submitted? I hope that makes sense.

Also, any idea how to get a biometric appointment? I think its everyone going for dual submissions that all the appointments are taken up.

Date of application is the date you submit and pay. Your supporting documents must be dated on or before this date. The date you upload or attend biomteric is irrelevant to this.

There is no longer a dual submission option. If there are no free appointments, you will have to pay for one.

Thank you CR001.

I was wondering if you know if we can upload digital documents such as e-payslips and bank statements? I have paper documents of both but it would save me from scanning a lot of documents.

Hi,

I have got a biometric appointment in a months time as no earlier appointments were available. Now that my appointment is booked I am unable to see if any earlier appointment becomes available. Does anyone know how to get around this as I would like an earlier appointment. (don't we all :D )

I have also uploaded documents but it just states uploaded and not 'submitted'. Would anyone know when they become submitted? Or if I am doing something wrong and I am supposed to submit them somehow myself?

Thank you again, help so far has been greatly appreciated.

You can not view any availability now unless you cancel your appointment first. There is no get around.

Self-submission is optional.

You should see a submit button at the end of the “document upload” page. If not, sign out and sign in again and it should appear.

The best approach is to self-submit so your documents are sent to UKVI even before biometrics and you save time.

I have found the submission button, does anyone know if the submission date of the documents matter? Does it make the process start earlier, before the biometrics?

Because if I wait till early next week my bank statement would arrive, now I have added bank transaction/statement printed from the bank. So should I wait or should I submit it. Baring in mind my payslip may become out of the 28 day period if submitted later.

thank you for your help. So if I do not submit today and I upload a document next week (dated before submission date), making one of my documents out of the 28 day period would that be ok?

Documents self-submission is optional. You can self-submit now or later on (up to 48hrs before) biometrics appointment OR can submit at your biometrics appointment itself. You should meet all the requirements at the date of application i.e. the date you paid and submitted online. Document upload date/self-submission date/biometrics date is irrelevant.

PS: You can only self-submit ONCE. However, you can upload any extra/more documents you wish before your appointment. The staff will submit it for you then.

Hi,

Thank you for your help so far. We have uploaded and submitted our documents.

For one of the bank statements we had uploaded and submitted the in branch print out as the bank statement had not arrived then.

I have now got the actual bank statement in the post. I still have a few days before the appointment so I was wondering if I should attach that along too and then the staff can submit that for me.

I would really appreciate your opinion.

You can. If you already have self-submitted, you can not self-submit again for now but can upload. It will be submitted at the appointment itself. So just upload before appointment.

I wouldn't bother to upload since the bank statement printed in the branch is equitably an official version.

How to obtain a certificate of application

Hi,

I’ve applied for ILR Set M last year but still haven’t heard anything and now my employer is asking for a ‘certificate of application’ which I did not receive in email or by post. I’ve given the visa application number but they are either asking for a 6 digit code (which I have also not received) or a certificate of application.

Please could anyone let me know of how I obtain these or what I need to provide to my employer legally for them to be satisfied with my right to work.

Employers may use the checking service.

When they do that, it doesn’t state my application status but rather just asks them to contact home office. Is there any other way to get it to them quickly.

Certificate of application used to be issued only to people who applied for EEA residence cards. It is NOT applicable anymore. Your employer must use the UAN you provided to get a positive response from UKVI. This is NOT an immediate status check service :!:

FYI
Application registration card (ARC) is a credit card-sized plastic card issued by the Home Office to individuals who claim asylum
Certificate of application is issued following receipt of a valid application for an EEA residence card.
