Hi ,
My tier 2 visa was issued on 11/05/2018 and i know i will be eligible to apply for ILR on 17/04/2023 . My question is: My contract annual renewal date and visa extension is always on the 12th of Augusta ever year as my first contract was for 6 months only . On 12/08/2022 i should be staying in the UK for 4 years and 4 months from my initial tier2 visa issuing date . Must i ask my employer to extend my visa only till 17/04/2023 so it will be exactly 5 years to apply for ILR or will it be ok if the employer extends the visa as usual till August 2023 and i will be still eligible to apply for ILR on 17/04/2023 while my tier 2 visa is still running ??
Thanks

It does not matter till when your visa is valid as long it is valid post your eligibility date.
You will qualify when you complete 5 years minus 28 days from the first visa issue date. You can apply as soon you are eligible regardless if your current visa validity is more than that.
