Hello
1. UK entry clearance valid from date -10/08/16
BRP issue date - 18/08/16
Date of entry to UK- 24/08/16
For continuous period of 5 years calculation i think i can use 10/08/16 and apply for ILR
28 days prior to this?

2. Set O form ilr tier 2 - field “when did you first enter the UK”.
If entry clearance start date is before the first entry to UK, and the application to ilr is based on continuous period measured from entry clearance start date then which date should be used for this field in this form?

Continuous Residence Guidance version 1 2020 under section “Check Immigration History “ mentions this should be entry clearance grant date but the set O form field clearly ask for date of entry.

Could you please clarify?

Many thanks if you can help.

1. Date of first visa issue date can be used
2. The date you put on the form does not change your eligibility

Many thanks for a prompt response Zimba.

Just so i am on the same page:
1. By date of first visa issue - you mean entry clearance valid from date - 10/08/2016 in my case?
2. So shall i use date of entry clearance rather than date of entry in this field in the form- same as above 10/08/2016 in my case.

Appreciate your help on this.

1. Yes.

2. No, the question asks for date of entry not visa start date. Simply put the date of entry as asked. It isn't a trick question.
