Use of expired Englist test for ILR, anyone tried?

Hi everyone,

I have a 5 year old IELTS C1 Level UKVI Academic test result which I used for my initial Tier-2 Entry visa. I'm now about to start my application in two months for ILR. Can I reuse this test since it's C1 scored and from IELTS London? Did anyone reuse their test and made it ok? Any post ILR application information is appreciated.

Many thanks,
Erkin

Unnecessary, if you are applying for ILR under the Skilled worker route.

Hi Vinny, what do you mean? Which bit is unnecessary?

Thanks Vinny, new to this forum, only figured out the links now. So much stuff, I wonder if this is mentioned anywhere else outside the guidance pdf document. Thanks a lot for the reply though.

There will be a question on the application form asking if you have provided English evidence in previous applications. If you select Yes (since you provided it for your Tier 2 application), your final document checklist will not ask you to submit it again.

Evidence of absences from employer

Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of applying for ILR with my current Tier 2 visa. I haven't stayed 180 days in any given 12 month periods even during covid pandemic.

But when I list all my travels, the application asked me the following in the "Other documents" section:

Letter(s) from employer(s) detailing reasons for work-related absences including periods of paid annual leave from the UK and Crown Dependencies for Mr ...

I'm on my third employment in the UK. This would be a paperwork disaster for both me and HR departments of the companies I worked for (plus the headache to explain any remote working happened in the meantime). Is this really required? Does anyone have more information?

Thanks,
Erkin

documents to bring to ILR biometric appointment

Hi everyone,

I am going to be attending my Biometric appointment for ILR shortly. I will upload all my supporting and mandatory documents online. I am a bit confused whether to bring the uploaded documents to the appointment.

The email I received from UKVCAS states:

All your supporting documents. You do not need to bring these if you have already uploaded copies online. (‘Offline Applicants’ see information below).

What should I do? I am tempted to bring only my QR print out, passport and BRP but I really don't want to mess my appointment if there's an illogical rule somewhere I miss.

Thanks in advance!

Only QR print out, passport and BRP are needed.

Missed period of absence and remote work for ILR application

Hi everyone, I have ten days to go before my biometric appointment for ILR and have two (alarming) questions:
  • 1. I just realised while reviewing my annual leave letter from a previous employment that I missed to report one instance of absence of an abroad vacation (of 10 days). I cannot go back and fix my dates of absence now that I have submitted the application and booked my biometric appointment. Shall I write an additional letter/note and explain the situation? (I missed the vacation because my wife got the tickets to our home country)
  • 2. There’s also the question of remote during summer of 2021 and 2020. I worked remotely from Turkey for 3 weeks in 2021 and 2 weeks in 2020. Do I have to explain this difference in the number of days on annual leave versus the time I was abroad?
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I'd like to thank the members of the forum for the detailed answers I got when I asked several questions regarding the ILR process. It helped me a lot and really reduced my anxiety about the process.

I'd like to make a donation for the help I got, so I was wondering if there'd be a charity that this forum is keen on helping about?

Thanks a lot,
Erkin
