Saving money on ILRs for kids born whilst in UK

Finally, this September'22 the time has come for me and my wife to apply for our ILRs. We have 2 kids born whilst in UK and they both have dependent BRPs running till September'23.
Having read this board I figured that we should apply for ILRs in September'22 only for me and my wife and once we receive those, our kids become kids of settled "parents" and they can apply for UK citizenships while myself and my wife will have to wait for a full year until we can do the same.
Is this right? If so, I think this will also allow to save some money as ILRs are expensive.
