No Priority Service - Applying on Standard

Post by Imran_T » Mon Aug 08, 2022 4:44 pm

My wife's biometric residence permit expires on the 25th August. I have only just saved the amount required for the visa and have completed the application and made the payment for the standard service (08/08/2022)

What happens if I don't hear back from the Home Office till after the BRP expires?

Will my wife have to leave the country? I would probably have to sell the car to afford plane tickets back to her country of birth.

Has anyone else applied assuming they'd be able to use the priority service only to find that this isn't available?

Nothing happens. If she made an in time application before her visa expires, section 3Cof the immigration rules kicks in and her time waiting remains valid.

No.
