ILR based on tier 2 and skilled worker visas

Hi,
I came to the UK on Tier 2 General visa in August 2017. I have changed employer and now I am on skilled worker visa.
Will this be categorised as change of category or Can I still count them together for the purpose of ILR?

Also,
I will become eligible for ILR in the end of July 2022, but I have to change job again on 02.08.2022 for career progression. Should I still try applying even though my employment with employer will be finishing in a week's time?

Many Thanks
SA

1. Please do not tag your questions onto other members topics. Your post has been split to your own topic

2. Tier 2 and skilled worker visa are basically the same category and lead to ilr after 5 years combining the two visas.

3. To qualify for ilr on a skilled worker visa, you must be employed with your visa sponsor and have a letter indicating you are required for the "foreseeable future".

Note that you cannot start a new job if you don't have ilr or a new skilled worker visa from a new sponsor.

Hi guys,
I will be eligible for ILR from August onwards.
I was wondering if speeding offences/ license points affects ILR application.
Many thanks

EMPLOYMENT

Hi,

I will complete my 5 years in the UK on Tier 2 Visa (now skilled worker visa) on 24th August 2022.

I am employed currently on a 6 month post started on 03.08.2022.

My salary meets the requirements and I have been continuously employed for last 5 years with just one gap of 15 days.

Should my fixed term post pose any problems for ILR application approval.

Regards

S

Thanks a lot,
So if my employer says that I work on a fixed term basis then is my application is likely to be rejected ?

The fixed term means not 'foreseeable future

Possible, as you don't meet the requirements.

Those words "foreseeable future" has been requested for a reason. You don't want to test them (HO) to find out your what "if" theories!

Thanks a lot for your help,
I probably am looking at the wrong web page but I couldn’t find that term foreseeable future in the gov.uk website under ILR guidance.
Can you please share the link for the same?
Regards

Eligibility
You must:

have lived and worked in the UK for 5 years - there are rules for what counts towards your time in the UK
meet the salary requirements
continue to be needed for your job and meet the salary requirements after you get indefinite leave to remain - you’ll need a document from your employer (sponsor) to confirm this
See also the immigration rule, SW24. 2

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... led-worker
Sponsorship and salary requirement for settlement as a Skilled Worker
SW 24.1. The sponsor in the applicant’s most recent permission must still be approved by the Home Office to sponsor Skilled Workers on the date of decision.

SW 24.2. The sponsor must confirm that they still require the applicant to work for them for the foreseeable future, and that the applicant is paid, and will be paid for the foreseeable future, at least the salary in SW 24.3.

Changing Jobs ILR application in progress

Hi all,
I have applied for ILR SET (O) (standard service) on 13th August 2022 and attended Biometrics on 08th September 2022.
My current Tier 2 Visa expires on 16th Feb 2023. I have been offered a job and new employer wants to issue COS.
Can I apply for a new visa while my ILR application is in progress?
Thanks

You cannot have two applications with UKVI at the same time. Submitting a Skilled Worker application will cancel your ILR application.

Does that mean that I can’t join a new job until my ILR application is in progress

Your new application will be a variation of the ILR application. You can only start your new job when your new visa is approved

To ask them what exactly?? The call centre is outsourced, you don't speak to ukvi caseworkers but to third party agents.
