It is indeed frustrating when you're waiting that long my wife and son applied for their ILR in July 2022, and up to now, no decision. Also, were also surprised that we received an email on 12 December 2022 requiring us to submit further documents that were actually already submitted on the application. I have emailed these docs and enquired about the decision date. However, no reply or confirmation.

This is the first time we have waited for this so long, and I'm just wondering why? as our application was pretty much straightforward (ILR- 5 year TIER 2-dependent route Wife/Son).

Anyone who has been in a similar situation? if yes, what have you done to chase it up?any phone number or email I can reach out? or is there a possibility to change this to priority service to get the decision quickly.

There are timelime threads showing period of waiting for applications. Some get it early some by 6th month and others beyond 6 months.

After 5 months of my ILR application, I have received an email from ukvi informing that my previous ielts was no longer valid however it is also posted in gov.uk website that I can still use my previous IELTS result for the reason that this was accepted for my application to enter the UK. This was also submitted during my visa tier2-dependent extension, 3 years after my entry here in UK.

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter.

In addition my husband also uses his previous IELTS result for his ILR and British citizenship application and both were approved.

My dilemma now is do i have to retake new English test or i can argue that my previous ielts result is still consider valid? Do i have similar situations?

Any feedback on this matter is much appreciated.

You have not stated at what level and type of English language test result that you currently hold.
Also have you checked that the provider of the test you took is still on the approved list of HO's test providers?

Hi i have taken IELTS -General with cefr rating of B2.
Yes i think it is as ielts still on the list -please take note that this was taken in the Philippines prior my entry to UK.

You can only use an expired English test if it was used in a previous visa application.

Tier 2 dependents did NOT have to meet the English requirement at all. So even if you submitted one, it would have been ignored as it was not required.

You need to do a new test.

Can you also confirm which form you completed? Was it form Set O? Asking as your subject states ILR dependent, which is a completely different category and form.

yes, it's set O. do you think i have completed an incorrect form? As my previous visa was TIER2-PBS Dependent visa

Yes,
Correct form.

There was NO English requirement for pbs depenent visa applicants, so you cannot use the test you have as it was NOT used in a previous application. Even if you submitted it with your entry clearance and extension applications, the English test would have been completely disregarded and ignored as it is not a requirement for pbs dependents and is not stated as a requirement in the immigration rules.

The mistake here is yours.

Yes, you must as soon as possible or risk a refusal for failing to meet the ILR B1 English requirement and potentially being put on a 10 year FLR FP visa route.

Thanks, CR001, for the clarification. Indeed it was my mistake. Anyhow, I managed to book an English (EnglishCert-B1) test for next week. I was told by the testing centre that they would provide a provisional result on the day and the official result would be sent through post after three working days. My only worry is they gave me a 10 days working day deadline. I hope they will accept the provisional result and follow the official certificate.

Just a quick update guys. My ILR has been approved after a long wait and a quick retake of english test. Dont make the mistake i did.
