Name Change Before ILR Application

Hi forum,

Currently in UK on an ancestry visa, which expires end of March, before which I intend on applying for ILR.
In October I got married in South Africa and double-barrelled my surname but all of my documentation is still in my maiden name (passport, ielts, life in the UK test, BRP, drivers licence ect).
I specifically avoided changing anything as applying for a new south african passport can take up to 6 months from the UK & I did not want to be without documents before my ILR application or change my name if I didn't have a corresponding passport.
But what I have seen on the deed poll website it mentions If you hold a BRP, you’ll need to update it within 3 months of changing your name, or else you may be fined up to £ 1,000 or have your stay shortened.

So question being what is the best course of action to take now with regards to changing names before my application, considering the passport will not be corrected in time, my BRP will have a different name to my original application and I am already 3 months overdue on changing everything?

You need to change your passport before you can change the brp

Thank you very much Char.
From what you have seen, would I be able to change all of my other UK details aside from the BRP in the meantime before my application OR wait until after the ILR application before making changes or mention of a name change & marriage?
