Hi all. I am struggling with this issue for a very long time, so I hope that I can reach some help here….

I will apply for ILR on 2026. However, due to unexpected circumstances, I may need to declare bankruptcy overseas. I don’t have any debts in the UK, but my job is quite low paid, so I can’t be able to afford the debt overseas.

If I declare bankruptcy overseas, will it affect my ILR application on 2026?

I reckon it depends on what country you're talking about. If it's some far away country, then there's no way of finding that out. They don't have a crystal ball. But if it's a country that shares info with the UK, nice to declare, but I think no effect regardless.
