Do I need to extend my visa before ILR?

Hi, I will become eligible for ILR in 2 weeks time (will have completed 5 years). My current permission/BRP expires in 4 weeks time however. I will still be needed by the sponsor beyond that date who will provide a letter confirming it and confirming the financial/salary requirements have been met and will continue to be met.

I am contemplating whether to extend my visa with another CoS from my sponsor first (because it would be 2 weeks of permission left when I apply for ILR in case something goes wrong I may not have a visa to fall back on) or just apply for ILR 2 weeks prior to the permission expiry as my application is really textbook straightforward otherwise (will be applying for 5 day priority). Many thanks.

You do NOT need to extend your visa first.

Simply apply for ilr before your visa expires.

Apply as is, you are covered by Section 3C while your application subsist with HO for decision.

CR001 pip me to it.
