came in uk 2006 on student visa till 8yr 6month
applied for family visa bcz was not able to get
case my case was refused did appeal got rejected my son was born in 2009 than applied on his behalf he got british passport m on dlr in december again have extension paying so much can i apply for ilr or can covert my visa to work permit pls guide

If you exhausted your appeal options and overstayed until you got DLR, then you do not have 10 years of lawful residence to get ILR under long residence. You may switch to any visa if you wish however I guess you have the right to work without limits. Moving to a skilled worker visa limits your options regarding your work life
