Ancestry Visa ILR date of application - trying to beat fee increase

Hi All,
I have been reading various posts on the board and am now getting myself very confused, so would appreciate some advice:
My husband is on an Ancestry visa and I am his dependant.
Our relevant dates are as follows:
Vignette valid from 17/11/2018
Arrival in UK 23/11/2018
BRP expiry date 17/11/2023
My first point of confusion is the date we are actually eligible for ILR.
Based on CR 6.1 - for a person seeking settlement on the UK Ancestry route, the date of their last
grant of permission I had calculated that we were eligible to apply for ILR on 20 October 2023. But then on the UK Ancestry Indefinite Leave to Remain website it states The earliest you can apply is 28 days before you’ve been in the UK for 5 years on your Ancestry visa. Your application may be refused if you apply earlier. - calculating on that basis, we are eligible to apply for ILR on 26 October 2023.
Now with the fee increase looming, I am thinking about whether we could possibly submit our applications online on the 3 October and then book a super-priority biometrics appointment for after the 20 October (or to be safe 26 October 2023).
I would really appreciate opinions on whether this would be a crazy idea? We honestly don't have the money to mess this up and have to re-apply. The cautious side of me thinks it would be better to wait and apply on 26 October, but then I think about the nearly £1000 I would save by applying on 3 October..... I am so torn about what to do!
All help would be greatly appreciated!
