Entry Date Set (o)

I entered the UK in Sep 2017 on a student visa
In Nov 2018 I switched to a tier 2 visa and got a BRP (tier 2 BRP issue date is Nov 2018)
Since I switched from a student to work visa, I didn't leave and re-enter the UK.

This question was asked in the set o form:

Can I use my BRP issue date as the date that I first entered the UK? Or should I use the date I entered as a student?
If I use the date entered as a student, would I have to add to add the absences from the UK in that period too?

This query is now asked multiple times and daily here. The answer to this question has NO relevance to your qualifying period for ILR. The date you enter has NO bearing on your application whatsoever. So whatever date you put in does not really matter. Just put the date of first entry to the UK

so I guess different rules depending on what ILR one is eligible for. For SET(M), I have been advised earlier on today, its date of entry to the UK that counts?

Yes but again, the answer you provide on the form has nothing to do with this. Your ILR eligibility is NOT determined based on the date you enter on the form. It is strictly determined according to the immigration rules :!:
