Incorrect duration of residence in the UK in the application

Hi all,

I have already submitted and paid for my online application for SET (LR) and is going to attend the appointment on 28 Dec. However, I just noted that the answer for total duration staying in the UK was filled in incorrectly.

Per my online application form, I first arrived in the UK on January 2014 (which is correct). However, I have been gradually filling in the application form since October 2023. Therefore, in the section ‘How long have you lived in the UK?’, I first stated 9 years and 9 months, being the duration between January 2014 and October 2023. However, when I submitted and paid for the application on 23 December 2023, I overlooked the detail and did not amend it. To clarify, by the time I submitted the application, I would have stayed in the UK for 9 years, 11 months.

I am intending to write a cover letter explaining the situation, and upload it to the UKVCAS portal (and will also bring the letter to the appointment in case they need it).

Is there anything else I need to do? Can anyone help me with this situation please? Many thanks.

Gap between duration of previous BRPs

Hi all,

I have submitted my ILR (10-year long residence) application and am uploading documents to UKVCAS.

My current BRP (T2 work visa) starts (end of Sep 2023) roughly 15 days after my previous BRP (T2 graduate work visa) ends (mid September 2023). This is because while I submitted the application for visa extension roughly a 3-4 weeks before the end of the previous visa, given that the processing time of T2 work visa is around 6 weeks, my current visa was then issued late.

Do I need to write a letter explaining the situation and upload to UKVCAS?

Please kindly advise me if I need to do anything else.

Many thanks.

No you don't need to explain anything, they know the rules, remember you applied to them and they issued it.
