I'm sorry if Iam posting in the wrong thread. Please direct me to the right one if this is not what I should be asking this. Question is applied for ILR PRIORITY SERVICE from 5 year skilled route. Had biometric on 14th jan and received this email on 16th: what should I do?anyone else been in same situation?

Email says:

Thank you for your settlement application for permission to stay in the UK.

Although we would normally decide your application within 5 working days from the date of biometrics, unfortunately this is not going to be possible in your case.

A decision on your application has been delayed because there are IT issues with your case and we are currently unable to process your application, we are working on resolving this and will process your application as soon as we are able.

I am sorry for the delay in dealing with your application and for the inconvenience this is causing. Please be assured that we are doing all we can to make a decision on your case as quickly as possible.

The Data Protection Act 2018 governs how we use personal data. For details of how we will use your personal information and who we may share it with please see our Privacy Notice for the Border, Immigration and Citizenship system

There's nothing you can do except for waiting and (possibly) asking for a fee refund.

Thanks for your reply. Yes you are right but IT issues are surely their problem and not mine? Why can't they sort it? It doesn't say my application is complex or anything? Waiting for someone who is in or has been in similar situation. I need to travel that is why took priority service

They will (hopefully) sort it, but priority service isn't guaranteed, so one way or another you could even been stuck in a 6 month timeframe, it happens very often on this forum.

I don't know what you expect from people who have been in the similar situation. You cannot speed UKVI up I'm afraid and your application will be withdrawn if you leave.

Yeah I do understand that. People in similar situation might give an idea how long does it take to sort IT issues by them🙂

Might be a few months - look up "IT issue" on forums. Example for naturalization - post2144219.html#p2144219

Thanks for your reply
The only reason I chose priority was so that I can travel. Now what are my options? If there any way to ask for refund and with draw and reapply after travelling?

If you had this option to begin with (apply after you're done with travels), you should've done this initially, as UKVI can and does say sometimes that application is complex, no decision will be made in timeframe.

We don't know the particulars of your situation (ie when does your visa expire or if it did already), so can't advise on that; you can ask for a priority service fee refund as decision wasn't made in given timeframe, but application fee won't be refunded.

If you were told to attend an appointment
Your fee will be refunded if you have not yet given your fingerprints and photo.

Your fee will not usually be refunded if you have already given your fingerprints and photo.

Has anyone received an email from home office stating your application can't be processed due to IT issue in your case in 5 days? for priority service, no further communication.

Many have. There isn't anything you can do to speed up the process and UKVI will communicate with you when they need to.

Note that Priority Service is not a guaranteed service.

Ok thanks.

I didn't review any acknowledgment email after submission, is that normal?
