HMRC Penalty on ILR

Dear all,

I just received a penalty of £200 for misfiling with careless mistakes of my previous year Self Assessment.

As i don't understand there is a need to declare the tax already refunded by HMRC and they found it in later day and then made an enquiry onto me. I replied to HMRC quickly and they don't accept my reasons. There is no chance to appeal as HMRC claimed I don't understand is equal to i haven't take extra care on self assessment submission. HMRC told me that there is a helpsheet for SA102 and I shall read through carefully.

I will be applying for ILR later and I have the following questions on IRL to the above situation:
1. How much of an issue will such penalty be on a negative impact of my ILR application?
2. The penalty will be paid soon as HMRC claimed no alternative penalty
3. Is this penalty count as a civil penalty? Do I have to declare this on my application as well?

Your comments will be much appreciated.

Regards,
Fung

This has no relevance to your ILR. No need to mention this

Hi,

Was your ILR finalized?
My friend has similar case . So was just wondering if he needs to do something else while filing for ILR.
