10 year ILR Route - combination of ICT and SW

Dear All,

Please could you clarify on our query below:

My entry into UK was in August 2018, as an ICT visa dependant of my husband.
I switched to a skilled worker visa in Nov 2023, when I found myself a sponsor.

I would have completed 10 years of legal stay in UK in Aug 2028.

Question 1 : Can I apply for ILR in August 2028 ? I would have completed :
5 years and 4 months as ICT dependant
4 years and 8 months on Skilled Worker visa
or must I complete 5 full years in Skilled Worker visa for applying ILR ?

Question 2: In Jan 2026, my daughter turns 18 and she is now ICT dependant(of my husband), can we continue to apply for her dependant visa(based on either of her parent's visa) if she does not have an independent life ? Or must she switch to student visa compulsorily after turning 18?

If we have to switch her to student visa in Jan 2026, then where does she stand on 10 year ILR route(she will complete 10 years only in August 2028).

(In Aug 2028, My daughter would have completed 7 years 5 months in ICT or Skilled worker dependent plus 2 years 7 months in Student visa. Will she qualify for 10 year ILR route)

Thank you for all your valuable inputs and time.

No one can say what the rules will be in August 2028. They change frequently, most recently just the last week for 10 years long residence. At the moment, your visas would qualify but anything can change by the time you qualify. That aside, you would qualify based on 5 years Skilled Worker in November 2028 anyway.

Your daughter can continue as dependent provided she does not lead an independent life, which includes getting married.

Additionally, why have you registered a second username to continue asking questions?? This is strictly not permitted on the forum.
