First entry delayed due to Covid

Hi there,

I got into a state of confusion after seeing evisa. I will explain the issue.

I was in the UK pre covid time on dependant visa and during March 2020 I travelled to my home country for switching my visa to skilled worker visa. I have managed to get an appointment and submitted my passport and documents for the visa but due to the pandemic my application was not processed and it got stuck in the VFS. During August 2020 when travel has started I raised an investigation and got my visa on 9th September and travelled to the UK on 21st September.

My BRP has start date as 24/03/2020 and my visa was valid till 03/05/2025 so with this start date and end date I was thinking like I could apply for ILR 28 days before my visa expiry.

Now after getting my evisa i can see start date as 09/09/2020 which clearly less than 5 years ☹️

My question is can I still apply for ILR 28 days before my visa expiry? Whether delay due to pandemic is not considered while apply for ILR? Has anyone experienced similar kind of issue?

It would be really helpful for me if someone could clear my confusion.

Thanks

ILR qualifying period has nothing to do with your visa expiry. You will become eligible for ILR within 28 days of completing the 5 years. Time spent waiting for an entry clerance is not relevant either as the qualifying period starts from the first visa issue date
