More than 180 days spent due to COVID pandemic

I am currently on a tier 2 General visa. My visa is coming to an end on 22-03-2025 and I am due to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) by then.
I originally applied for this visa in 2020 and had to travel to my home country to do so. My visa was issued from March 2020, however I could not travel to the UK till Oct 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Which means I’ve stayed for more than 180 days out of the UK and hence wanted to check if you would be able to advise if I am still eligible to apply for ILR in Feb 2025 or would I have to wait till Sep 2025?

Note: I’ve been working in the UK since Oct 2018 on dependent visa. I got Tier 2 General visa in March 2020.

This is up to the UKVI. Any discretion is up to them as there is no hard and fast rule on this

Redundancy Pay while on Skilled Worker Visa

Hi,
I am currently on a Tier 2 General visa, and my job is at risk due to potential redundancy. If I accept redundancy pay, will it affect my ILR application, which I plan to submit in September 2025? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

No effect, why would it?

Of course you are aware you will need a new sponsor and skilled worker visa before you can apply for ilr.
