Gap between Old and Extended Skilled Worker Visa - Problem for ILR

Hello Members,

Need some thoughts and guidance here.

I am on a skilled worker visa which expired on 10th December 24 and was successfully renewed for a further two years with my new dates starting from 26-Nov-24 until 25-Dec-26.Since this was done from my sponsor, my renewal was handled by a professional immigration consultant.

I handled my PBS Spouse and Child application by my own. I had submitted my sons PBS Child application before 10-Dec-24 with all necessary documents. However I got the positive decision on extended visa today but it has a start date of 19-Dec-24 not 11-Dec-24. So basically there is a gap of 8 days between old visa and extended visa. Will this be considered as gap and will there be any challenges during the ILR application.

Thanks

No, the gap is covered by section 3C leave. So this gap should not harm future entitlement.

That is not a gap. Time spent waiting for an in-time application is considered a lawful stay and not a gap.

Read about section 3C here: Applicants can benefit from the date of the ILR decision
