EARLIEST Date to apply ILR - Please help

Hello,
I am on skilled worker tier-2 visa and looking to get clarity on earliest date when I can apply for ILR. Some key dates are:
- Date of initial decision letter from home office which granted entry clearance: 16 January 2020
- Date when entry clearance was started from (as specified in decision letter): 03 February 2020
- Date of issuance of first BRP: 27 January 2020
- Date of actual entry in the UK: 04 February 2020

My specific question is; can the date of decision letter (i.e., 16 Jan 2020) be used to work back 28 days (which comes to 19 Dec 2024) and submit my application?

Many thanks

Yes, the earliest date of approval can be used to calculate your 5 years

Thanks, so in the field where it asks 'date you entered UK' I should say 16 Jan 2020 and then add the period from 16 Jan 2020 to the actual date of entry (04 Feb 2020) as an absence?

Hi Zimba - slightly confused now as I've across another response posted by you here - https://www.immigrationboards.com/viewt ... p?t=342697

This suggests date of BRP (i.e., an immigration document) should be used for starting the qualifying period?

Thanks

That date does not matter. Your qualifying period is determined as per the rules, not what you put on the form

That advice is from a year ago. I no longer think any caution is needed as I advised in that post. It has been shown that the date of approval can be used.
