ILR Eligibility and Visa Extension Options

I am currently in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa and will be eligible for ILR on 21st April 2025. My visa is valid until 17th June 2025 (5 years completed on 18th May 2025, with some extra days).

My wife applied for a Skilled Worker Dependent visa on 20th November 2020 and will be eligible for ILR on 24th October 2025, approximately six months after me. Her dependent visa also expires on 17th June 2025 as mine.

We have been in the UK since January 2019. Previously, my wife held an Intra-Company Transfer visa, and I was her dependent. I switched to a Skilled Worker visa first, and six months later, she switched to a Skilled Worker Dependent visa.

Since I will qualify for ILR before my wife, I want to ensure that her ILR clock will not reset.

My Questions:
1. Do I need to extend my Skilled Worker visa for another six months so that my wife’s ILR clock remains unaffected?
2. Are there any other options to ensure she qualifies for ILR in October 2025 without resetting her continuous residence period?

I would appreciate your advice on the best course of action.

Where did you get the idea that her ILR clock will be reset or that you need an extension ?
When was your initial visa for your dependent issued under the skilled worker route ?

If i will get ILR, what visa my dependent (Spouse) will apply? If they will change the immigration category (Skilled worker dependent to Family visa) then will clock not reset??

I believe family visa won't count towards time spent in UK for 5 years route or am i wrong?

My wife is on dependent visa and the first visa was issued as skilled worker dependent on 20th November 2020. Previously she was on Intra company transfer and living with me in UK since January-2019.

She doesn't change visa to the family (spouse) visa when you get ILR.

She continues on her existing visa route and applies for an extension as a skilled worker dependent until she meets the ILR requirements. An extension will be a 3 year extension if you have ILR.
